This weekend the SCF tour bus rolled in to G’Vegas South Cakalaka! The word from Rick Lethal and his AquaNet Squad is that all went well. With the Boogaloo in the house, I don’t see how it could ever go wrong. I even heard that Creeper mad an appearance. And even crazier, Johnny Angel was rumored to have come out front to sing lead on a song. I’d possibly trade my big purple hat just to see that!
Saturday afternoon, some of our road crew found a pretty cool record store downtown. This place has bar, did I mention that they have a bar. Nice place to hang if they get a big screen to watch the game. They also had computers were not only you listen to samples, but you can create your own mix disc. I had to sneak down there later and make my own mix disc loaded with plenty of Maceo Parker. If you haven’t heard of Maceo before, he used to be James brown’s sax playa. Nowadays he tours with his own Funk band as well as Prince. Trust OJ, this guy is the truth when it comes to funk. Check out his website at http://maceo.com/, you’ll be glad you did.
Now, down to the business of Stone Cold Fox at the Greenville Wing………… The place was off the hook. It was standing room only in that place. The Right Reverend Rolo P. Coltrane was even singin’ in the balcony at one point. That guy definitely has a talent for getting in weird places with a non-wireless microphone.
Special thanks to Deacon Ray Ray for comin’ out and snapin’ photos and getting some video. The pics came out great. Haven’t seen the video yet, but I’m sure it’s great. The Deacon has similar skills to Rolo in finding himself in some odd vantage points.
On a side note, the Stone Cold Fox website is up and running. It is still slightly under construction, but our webmaster is working ever so diligently to get it complete very soon. You can view the schedules of Stone Cold Fox, Electric Boogaloo and The White Leppard Crue on the site currently. The next step of the process is adding a section for each band that will features pictures and bios and things like that.
Next week we will be at the Tiki Hut. Check it out if you’re near.
And on a personal note……. GO DAWGS!
