Happy Birthday Asheville! And OJ too! -- October 7th, 8th, & 9th

First of all, let me start this post by sayin' Happy birthday to the Asheville Wild Wing. That's right it was one year ago that Asheville opened it's doors. Not only that, but their first weekend featured The Fox. And Not only that , but that night was the debut of Orange Julius Jackson as the full time bass player in the SCF family. So happy anniversary to me!

Now, let' go back a day or so........ Friday night, we played a new place called the Fieldhouse in Dacula, GA. It was rockin'!. A nice place with a great staff, Ron and David took great care of Rolo, OJ, Chest and Disco Stu (Jackie was on vacation knockin' some heads in the big Apple.). You should have seen the dressin room. Talkin about pimped out?!? It made the back of Rolo's van look like a hospital waiting room. Once Rolo and his boys hit the stage, the folks hit the dance floor pretty hard. We hope to return to the Fieldhouse very soon in the near future.

Now, down to he business at hand...........Birthday. Saturday not only was Asheville's 1 year birthday, but it was also their Wingstock. They had a star studded line up featuring Craven Melon, Elecrtric Boogaloo, The White Leppard Crue and Stone Cold Fox. They also had some fireworks and birthday cake for all to enjoy. Craven Melon went on first. They sounded great, but suddenly in the middle of their second set, Disco Stu was playing drums with them and it was off the hook.

After that, there were some fireworks. I even spied Dave, one of the owners drinking a Jeagerbomb through the ice sculpture. Happy b-day Dave!

Then it was time for Boogaloo to hit the stage. I tell you what, those English fellas sure can play. Frankie Fairlight was wailing on that cool yamaha of his. I also heard that someone mistakenly introduced their bass player, Semicolon, as Orange Julius Jackson and it got the crowd in to a tizzie. That's ok, if anything it reminded them all that Daddy was indeed in the house.

After a brief pause for the cause, The Crue came out with Bobby Mullet's brother Donny Mullet singing lead. After the first song they explained that Rick Lethal had been incarcerated earlier that day. Last we heard, his lawyers were working furiously hard to get him out by this Friday in time to play the Wing in Suwanee. Those boys packed the dance floor on through midnight.

Finally around 12:30, the headliners came out and put on a disco show to rival all others. It was cragy! We had ladies on the stage, in the dressin' room, on the bus. They just couldn't get enough of the Fox that night. Our good friends Will & Michelle were in the house snappin a few photos....... I hope to get those and post some here very soon. Special thanks that night to Dave and Colin for taking god care of us the past year and into the future.

Sunday, we played a place called Tavern On The Bridge in Duluth, GA.....only a couple of miles from my shack so you know I was happy about that. It was Disco Party Night. We had some very special guests in the house. The Lixx Band! www.lixxband.com That's right, Nikki Lixx and her crew came out to see The Fox. We even got Luna to sing one with the Reverend. Special thanks to them for coming out.

Well that about does it for this week. Stay tuned for news from this weekend's shows in Suwanee. Word on the street is that Semicolon is going through some changes.

later.
