This weekend we headed to the coast. Friday night Bluffton, SC as Stone Cold Fox and Saturday night in Savannah as The Dock Martins.
Talk about a laid back weekend. When we got to Bluffton, they told us not to start before 10:30. Most of the Wings want you to start no later than 10:15. The soundman there was a Scotsman named Ian that I had worked with before at the Hilton Head Wing. Really nice guy and a really good soundman. Very easy to work with. The crowd wasn't huge Friday night, but they seemed into it and there were people dancin' all night.
On the way Friday, I met up on the road with my Brother, Mom and Dad. It was cool, they finally got to see Stone Cold Fox. They hadn't seen me play in at least 6 or more years, back when I was in the wedding band. They not only loved the food at the wings, but they loved the show. My dad thought Sean was one of the best front men he had ever seen. I even think he wished he was still the dancin machine. hahha.
After the show, Scott and I headed down South to my parents house to hang out there. It was about a hour and a half drive.
After sleeping in on Saturday, followed by mom's cooking of some shrimp, we eventually headed back up to Savannah. We got there early enough that Scott and I could take our time setting up. Sean and Rich had already brought in their stuff earlier that day.
Once the soundman got there he said that they wanted us to start at 11. yep, 11. Hahaha. You gotta love Island Time. The crowd there was nuts. And they loved the docs. We played til nearly 3. I wouldn't mind playing in SAV once a month.
Gotta love Island Time.
