The New Year 2006

The New Year 1/15/06

What up bitches?!?! My apologies once again, for not updating the Orange Blizzog until now, but OJJ has had a busy month or two. So with that being said, let me update you on some things and let you know about some things to come.

First of all, special thanks to all the folks we played for in December. In December, we played at the new Alpharetta Wild Wing for the first time. At the beginning of the month as Electric Boogaloo and The White Leppard Crue, and the night before New Years Eve Stone Cold Fox lead them through a dress rehearsal. That place is jumpin’! The energy is always high, the ladies are always lovely, and Rollo is always on his game. Of course, it is a rarity when he isn’t on his game.

New Years Eve, we were in our home not so far away from home, The Suwanee Wing. That place was pizacked! I had never seen that place so full of warm bodies. Not even for Slippery When Wet! Special thanks to my good friend Chainsaw for comin’ and hangin out and bringin’ in the New Year with us.

Last week we were once again in Alpharetta. Both nights were packed and the people loved it. On Friday, there was a contingency of folks visiting from Ireland. They kept requesting BeeGees. And of course, we obliged. On Saturday night, Boogaloo led the crowd through several 80’s sing-a-longs. The crowd seemed to enjoy the mix of 80’s metal with the pop stuff. With Boogaloo playing the whole night, the folks get a little more of a mix of songs.

This weekend Stone Cold Fox, The Funk Disco Party Kings, were at The Wing in Asheville on Friday night. Jackie and I took the night off, but Rollo reports that crowd was great and was into it all night. Special thanks to Disco Stu for fillin’ in for Jackie and Freddie “Boom Boom” Washington for filling for OJJ. On Saturday night we were at The Fieldhouse in Dacula, GA. The crowd was great. Although I was back in action, Jackie was still on hiatus so we had Disco Stu once a again and let me tell you, he did a great job. Special thanks to Ron at The Fieldhouse for his hospitality, we hope to return there very soon in the near future.

With that I have a few New Year's announcements to shout. Starting last week, when we play in Alpharetta and Suwanee, Stone Cold Fox will now play on Friday night and Electric Boogaloo will headline on Saturday. Yep, Boogaloo has been promoted. No worries, you will still here the songs from the Crue’s set list, just performed by Boogaloo. All other areas (Asheville, Augusta, Greenville), will usually be Friday night 80’s and Saturday 70’s. And the Crue will still play in those areas as well.

Another announcement, in February, at the Greenville Wing, we will debut our new 90’s show. The Dock Martins. That’s right; we are adding a new color to the scheme. At the moment the plan is to rotate, the 90’s with the 70’s each month at each bar. So in Alpharetta and Suwanee (St. Patty’s) the 90’s will be played on the Friday that we are there in March. More on this in another blog.

With that I am going to end this blog. Till next time, ENJOY YO’SELF BITCHES!!!!!!
